Asian recipe - Stir-fry Mixed Vegetable

Ingredient:

10 grams of white fungus that are trimmed and soaked.10 gram of soft black fungus that are trimmed and soaked.

60 grams of button mushrooms.60 grams of baby corn

1/4 teaspoon salt1 tbsp of olive oil

60 grams of sliced carrots

90 grams of broccoli

90 grams of cauliflower that are cut

60 gram of cooked Chinese mushrooms

80 ml of vegetable stock

half tsp of sugar

1 tsp of sesame oil

1 tsp of light soy sauce

2 tbsp of oyster sauce

Method and instruction:

1. Boil a small pan of water. Blanch the fungus in. Rinse in cold water. Drain the fungus.

2. Using the same pan of water, blanch the button mushroom and the baby corn. Same as above, rinse in cold water.

3. In a wok, heat up the olive oil. Next, add carrot and cauliflower and some salt. Stir fry the mix for about 2 minutes.

4. Now add the button mushroom, baby corn, broccoli, black and white fungus and the Chinese mushrooms. Combine and stir.

5. Now pour in the stock. Cook for another 1 minute or so.

To season, add the oyster sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil and sugar. Test the taste and estimate the flavour.

Asian Recipe - Sweet Black Sesame Soup

This is a free online recipe for making sweet Black Sesame Soup. It is a Cantonese Chinese dessert that is quite popular in Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Singapore and Malaysia. The Mandarin name of this Chinese Dessert is call Zi Ma Wu.

It is very nice, but can be quite ‘heaty’. So it should be taken with some moderation, lest you want a sour throat.

For this dessert, we will need the following ingredients

1 bowl of black sesame seeds

1 bowl of rice

Plain water

1/2 a cup of granulated sugar

The following is the instruction method:
1. Firstly, we will need to prepare the rice. Soak the rice in cold water. Do so for about 60 minutes. After that, drain off some of the water.
2. Next, in a pan, stir roast the black sesame seeds. Adjust the fire to a medium low heat. Do so for a few minutes until fragrance comes out. Now take away the black sesames and let them cool.
3. Now we need to grind the black sesames into a powder. You can use a blender or use the traditional pounder to grind them.

4. Once fully grounded, pour in 1/2 bowl of water. Stir and grind mixing them into a nice paste.

5. Now let go back to the soaked rice. Turn the heat and boil it. Onced boiled, lower the temperature to medium.

6. Next add the grounded sesame paste into the soaked rice water. Stir to mix well. Finally, put in the granulated sugar and stir to mix well.

Continue to medium heat until the soup becomes thicken. This should take about 5 to 10 minutes.

Once done, the Black Sesame soup is ready.

Free Online Recipe - Oyster Omelette

This is a free online recipe for making Oyster Omelette:

Ingredients for Batter (Mixed):

Tapioca Flour 100 g

Rice Flour 50 g

Water 350 ml

Salt ½ teaspoon

Ingredients for main:

Eggs 9

Oyster 300 g

Optional Ingredients

Chili Sauce 4 tablespoons

Coriander leaves (cut)

Methods:

Step 1: Put all batter ingredients into a mixing bowl. Blend it well.

Step 2: Whisk eggs in a dry bowl.

Step 3: Divide whisked eggs, oysters and batter (step 1) into 3 portions.

Step 3: Heat wok with 3 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add in 1 portion of batter and whisked eggs into the wok. Fry the mixture until aromatic. Push the fried mixture on a side of the wok.

Step 4: Put in 1 portion of oyster. Add in chili sauce (optional). Add in 3 tablespoon of batter. Stir-fry it.

Step 5: Combine the fried mixture (step 3) and the fried oyster (step 4). Stir-fry it until aromatic. Dish up.

Step 6: Sprinkle some coriander leaves.
