Recipe Book Usage Tips
Here are several tips to facilitate the easier and more efficient usage of the Talking Recipe Book.
1. Store recipe images in the “C:\Program files\Talking Recipe Book\Recipes” Folder.
Although the recipe book can retrieve images from other folders, it is always a good practice to store all the images in the above mentioned folder. This is to minimize the accidental deletion of images that are scattered all over the hard drives.
2. Backup the database and image files.
The database file is call recipe.rbd. It is in the “C:\Program Files\Talking Recipe Book” folder. Additionally, there is a folder call “Recipes”. The recipe images should be stored here. It is a good practice to backup both recipe.rbd and the “C:\Program Files\Talking Recipe Book\Recipes” folder. If you have an email account that allows storage of reasonable sized files, it is ideal to zip both the rbd file and recipe folder and attached it in an email to yourself. Another good way is to copy the file and folder onto a storage drive such as a flash or thumb-drive.
3. Keep recipe images’ file size small.
By keeping the recipe image’s file size as small as possible, the software can run and load faster. Also, you get to save storage space.
