The Interface of the Program

Below describes the functions of the various columns of the program’s interface.

1. Top Section
Search

Type the recipe that you are looking for e.g. pineapple. Click on the button with a magnifying glass, the searches will appear on the recipe list.

Recipe Database A to Z

It displays a list of recipes you have collected and created.

Recipe Title

For the typing of the recipe title. This field is a compulsory if you want to save the recipe.

2. Ingredients/Methods Section
This section is for writing down the recipe’s ingredients and method.
Notes

For the jotting of notes pertaining to the recipe.

Buttons Functions

Below listed are the various functions of the buttons.

Print Recipe Button

Click to print the displayed recipe


New Recipe Button

Click to start a blank page for entering new recipe

Save Recipe Button

Save the displayed recipe.

Delete Recipe Button

Delete the displayed recipe.

Next Recipe Button

Click to displayed the next recipe number

Previous Recipe Button

Click to displayed the previous recipe number

Read Recipe Button

Clicking this will cause the texts within the Ingredients/Methods section to be read.

Tips: Put a fullstop “.” at the end of each line of ingredient to create a pause.

Browse Pic. Button

“Pic” refers to “Picture”. Click the button to browse for a recipe picture. Click the “OK” button to select the picture.

Reset Pic. Button

“Pic” refers to “Picture”. Click to remove the picture.

Pic Size: 200×200 pixel – picture size of 200 by 200 pixel will be displayed. If picture more than this size will be cut away.

Retrieving and displaying saved recipes
To display individual recipes that are being saved, double-click on the title of the recipe within the Recipe Title Section. This will cause the recipe to be displayed on the Ingredients/method Section.
